Scientific research is an essential component part of the mission of Constantin Brāncoveanu University and it is conceived as an important lever of professional development, on the one hand to meet the teaching staff's needs and requirements of knowledge and improvement of business processes in the Romanian society in order to enhance the competitiveness of the economic and social actors in Romania, on European and international level, and, on the other hand, in order to cultivate among future specialists the concerns of exploring the actual or potential economic problems and to seek viable ways to solve them.

So far, the teaching staff's scientific research has been oriented on several directions:
- Stimulating the activity of the Scientific research centres operating within the University, focusing studies on functioning market economy development, on harmonizing the legislation in relation to the one of the European Union and on clarifying issues regarding the functioning of the economy in terms of post-accession competition.
- Participation in scientific research contracts and obtaining grants according to the Research-Development-Innovation National Plan, according to the European programmes and research partnerships with business units and public institutions.
- Development of research results through national and international scientific publications, through participation in prestigious scientific conferences organized in Romania and abroad.
- Elaboration of treaties, courses and applied paper works to achieve quality education.
- Conducting research to improve the teaching activity, to modernize the ways of transmitting knowledge to students.
- Organization of conferences, symposia, scientific research sessions, workshops with Romanian and foreign specialists, in collaboration with other universities, research institutions from the economic and social field.
- Attracting and involving students, master students and doctoral students in the research activity.
