The project objective focused on increasing the level of qualifications and skills, both among employers and among employees concerning the current economic changes and developments. Special attention was given to open access to training and improvement in order to render the employees aware about the importance of lifelong learning.
Achieved activities: conference on the occasion of launching the project - 70 participants; conducting training courses; drafting and printing the Business techniques management dictionary; organizing the Requirements of performance management in business Symposium, occasion for launching the previously mentioned dictionary; organizing the project completion conference; advertising the project activities: press releases, newspaper articles, posters, leaflets, etc.

Objectives: The project aimed at conducting research on company competitiveness, identification of competitiveness factors in SMEs, as well as on the establishment of methods to analyze and evaluate results, on the elaboration of strategies to increase competitiveness, on defining methods and techniques for developing a competitive entrepreneurship in Europe.
Achieved activities: research concerning the strategies for increasing the competitiveness of SMEs from Vâlcea on the international market, SWOT analyses concerning the business environment, having in view the company as supplier for export markets. Identifying the methods and techniques for a "European entrepreneur" and offering landmarks to the companies analyzed so that the three groups of factors that shape the business environment: the marketing macro-environment, the entrepreneur's micro-environment and the company-specific factors can allow an efficient capitalization of opportunities and increase of competitiveness, an improvement of the management, administration and leading method. To provide the SMEs from Vâlcea with a methodological framework for performance evaluation and successful participation in the European competition process the "Guide of the entrepreneur - for a competitive business" was developed. At the same time, the project has also recorded 39 participations in national and international symposia and conferences.

Objectives: The project aimed at facilitating the access of young unemployed people from Argeș County in finding employment through training and information, the main partner being the Association of Businesspeople from Argeș.
Achieved activities: 37 young unemployed people aged between 15 and 24 years, looking for a job, from Argeș county and  neighbouring localities (rural area) - have received training for "Input, validation, data processing Operator" and "Boarding House Administrator," as well as entrepreneurial training; the young people have also participated in a job club workshop. Three of the final beneficiaries of the project have been placed on the Argeș County labour market.

Objectives: The project aimed at improving the quality and adaptability of human resources; at supporting sustainable employment in the context of supporting a knowledge-based development in South-West Oltenia.
Achieved activities: the development of an innovative model of training the workforce, based on the involvement of economic agents in the training process; 30 people, employees in the tourism sector, received proper job training courses held by the following training modules: management, tourism economy, tourism marketing, information systems in tourism, communication in foreign languages, training courses for management skills development, for two months; 112 workers from the tourism sector in Vâlcea, audited from a psychological and skill-related point of view for the professional assessment were included in training courses for four months, depending on the job-related skills, in two modules of theoretical and practical training in communication and teamwork.

The Purpose of the project was to increase the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of human resources departments' managers and of the operational staff within them, by organizing a training programme designed to improve human resource management of SMEs in Brăila. Thus, the project aimed to improve the competences of the same qualification by facilitating adults' access to education and training. In this respect, the lifelong learning principle was promoted as a basic principle of education and training systems needed to have highly skilled and adaptable workforce, able to use effectively knowledge and new technologies.
The target group consisted of 40 employees, women and men, regardless of their age, representing managers of human resources departments and operational staff within them, who carry out their activity in the SMEs from Brăila. All project activities had as ongoing concern gender equality and equal opportunities between women and men.

The main activities of the project were: · completion of the target group; acquisition of IT equipment for carrying out training activities; training and carrying out of courses package; drafting and printing the booklet "Guide of the Professional in Human Resources"; · organizing the symposium "The role of human resource management in the European Union", promotion and dissemination of project results; · project evaluation.

Study of waste management behaviour of citizens in Argeș County, as component part of the ISPA Project Integrated Management of Solid Waste in Argeș County, Grant/ISPA

Achieved activities: The project aimed at conducting a survey in the city of Pitești and in another 15 urban and rural areas from Argeș County in order to assess the citizens' degree of awareness and information about the importance of selective waste management. Ten representatives of the teaching staff and research staff have been engaged in the project, as well as 30 students who have applied, processed and interpreted a questionnaire on a sample of over 1000 subjects in Argeș County. The information provided by the research report as a result of the survey helps to optimize the decisions relating to the ISPA project whose beneficiary is Argeș County Council.

Achieved activities: The main activities conducted to achieve the set objectives were: organizing two focus groups with the academic representatives belonging to the economic faculties of Pitești and Rm.
