The Teaching Staff Training Department has been functioning at Constantin Brāncoveanu University since 2002, as an academic and professional entity enabled to provide psycho-pedagogical and methodical training for students and higher education graduates who choose the teacher career.
T.S.T.D.'s mission aims three basic directions:
- initial psycho-pedagogical, methodical and practical training for students and higher education graduates who choose the teacher career;
- continuous training and professional development of the teaching staff through periodical training/forming programs, through the organization of training courses and examinations to obtain teaching degrees;
- scientific, theoretical and applicative research in the field of education sciences. The T.S.T.D. has its own scientific research plan, in which the topics belong to teaching staff training field and where are involved all the tenured university teachers and/or associated university teachers.
Psyho-pedagogical courses: Educational Psycology, Introduction to Pedagogy, Theory and Methodology of Training, Theory and Methods for Evaluation etc.
The
graduation of the studies provided by the Teaching Staff Training Department ends with a Certificate of Graduation, corresponding to teaching profession level, that is the graduates of the I level get the TSTD certificate that allows them to occupy didactic positions in the compulsory pre-university education system which consist of courses and activities corresponding to the field of graduated university subjects.
