The SPACE network was founded in Lille, France, in 1989 and today it sums up to over 90 universities and higher education institutions in 30 European countries.
The main missions of the network are:
■ to stimulate intercultural exchanges;
■ to enhance the professional skills of staff at partner institutions, by sharing with each other innovative ideas and examples of good practice;
■ to increase the professional skills of students in higher education, and those who aspire to it through lifelong learning;
■ to facilitate the implementation of the Bologna process in the member institutions;
■ to promote the idea of a common European heritage;
■  to build bridges with the business community in Europe.

Constantin Brancoveanu University has been a member of the SPACE network since 2006 and it stands out through an active presence both within the conferences organized in different European countries, and also within the intercultural projects developed in partnership with other European universities.

In 2008, our university hosted the works of the 19th SPACE Conference, attended by personalities of the educational space from England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, Lithuania and the United States of America.

Belonging to the SPACE network has brought the Constantin Brancoveanu University a large international recognition, as well as cooperation agreements with numerous universities from the European space. Nowadays, the portfolio of the University's international partners counts 28 European higher education institutions, and the cross-university cooperation places us among the universities with an outstanding internationalization policy.
